Love Your Wife

It has been over twenty years since the last time I was a teacher getting ready to head back to school at this time of year. Despite this, the teacher in me is still being pulled towards school every August like a migratory bird feeling the powerful pull of the South in the Fall. My memories, the nervous energy in me, and even my dreams are filled with this magnetic pull.

I remember asking my grade seven class to explain in their own words what the ten commandments meant. One young fellow proposed this theological interpretation for the commandment, “You shall not commit adultery.” He said that it means “We should love our wife even if she is not pretty.”

Brimming with Life

The Beechwood National Cemetery – Love to walk here. 160 acres of greenery teeming with scores of black squirrels scurrying under the ancient oaks, majestic maples, tall cypresses and along large beautiful flower gardens. This space set aside for death is brimming with life.

Peaceful Walk - Sérénité

Walk along the Ottawa River this morning. Cool breeze and tranquility. Very refreshing inside and out.

Marche matinale le long de la rivière des Outaouais. Brise légère et tranquillité. Rafraîchissant pour le corps et pour le coeur.
