Why did the turkey cross the street?
Another pleasant walk in the National Cemetery this
afternoon. One of the things that often intrigue me when I wander through the many pathways between the burial plots is that I do not recall
ever seeing birds there even though it is full of trees of every variety.
Today, though, two exceptionally large wild turkeys crossed the road
just in front of me. What the cemetery lacks in quantity of avian
creatures, it more than makes in the size of the ones who do inhabit its grounds.
I don’t know why they were crossing the street though. "To get to the
other side” would be a reasonable enough assumption.
